ABOUT ACADEMY OF PHARMACY

TheAcademy of Pharmacy was established on November 11, 2020, focusing on pharmaceutical sciences and planning to recruit faculty from globallydistinguished institutions working in this discipline. The Academy of Pharmacy intends to work closely with the local (SuzhouIndustrial Park) private sectors for student/professional training and basic research. It will also build a state-of-the-artPharmaceutical Analysis Core Lab and Laboratory Animal Research Centre with excellent technical support. Staff also benefit from thefact that Suzhou is building a ‚ÄòChinese Pharma Valley‚Äô for pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences. Cold Spring Harbor Asia(http://www.csh-asia.org/index.html) is located withinwalking distance and there are over 600 pharma and biotechnology companies in Suzhou Industrial Park. Current Academy of Pharmacyresearch areas include: novel therapeutic development and strategies, AI-assisted drug development, gene/cell therapy, clinical pharmacy,and new vaccine development. The Academy plans to offer undergraduate, Master‚Äôs and PhD degree programmes in Applied Statistics(Biostatistics), Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, and Biopharmaceuticals.

THECONSTRUCTION OF JIANGSU PROVINCE KEY LABORATORY OF CELL THERAPY NANOFORMULATION 

Based in the Academy of Pharmacy,XJTLU is constructing the Jiangsu Province Key Laboratory of Cell Therapy Nanoformulation. The Key Laboratory is positioned at theintersection of two cutting-edge fields, namely nanomedicine and cell therapy. The Key Laboratory develops novel nanomaterials-basedtechnologies, combined with innovations in associated technologies, to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes of cell therapies. The KeyLaboratory integrates technology development, mechanism study, and translation research. The Key Laboratory is recruiting highly motivatedindividuals to join an interdisciplinary team, for the overall goal of improving human health through nanomedicine and cell therapy.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To teach undergraduate and graduate students.• To maintainactive research and research funding.• To carry out various administrative duties (e.g. Research Officer, Lab Safety Officer, andExaminationOfficer).• To supervise graduate students and support teaching and research staff.• To collaborate vigorously withlocal private sectors.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIALQUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

• The successful applicant will have a PhD degree with expertise in genetic engineering,cell culture technology, molecular cell biology, pharmaceutical analysis, instrumentation and automation, molecular modelling forbiomaterials, artificial intelligence for biomaterials, chemical/pharmaceutical production, quality assurance and control, pharmaceutics,nanomaterial, tissue engineering, biosensing, or a related discipline and should demonstrate appropriate teaching experience and evidence ofthe ability to obtain external research funds and produce high quality research publications.

‚Ä¢ Candidates for the positionof Associate Professor and above should also have a strong track record in teaching and academic supervision, as well as an internationalcollaborative research profile in theirfields and a successful record of research funding.

‚Ä¢ Candidates for the position ofpostdoctoral fellow should have strong publication record or strong industry experience. Excellent performance during the postdoctoralperiod can lead to the opportunity of assistant professor appointment.

DESIRABLEQUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:Candidates with previous pharmaceutical industry and/or industry collaboration experience areparticularly encouraged to apply.
