2025 Recruitment notice for teaching and research positions in the Center for Ecological Research

1. Introduction to the Department

The Institute of Ecology, Peking University (hereinafter referred to as the Eco Center) was officially established in June 2018. The Center for Ecology is an entity affiliated with the School of Urban and Environmental Sciences and is also the implementation unit of Peking University's double-first-class ecological discipline construction. It is responsible for integrating the ecological resources of Peking University and building an ecological teaching and research platform. The Center for Ecology adheres to the concept of "academics first, education-oriented, serving society, and protecting nature," and carries out high-level scientific research, teaching, and social service work. Currently, the Ecology Center faculty members come from the Faculty of Urban and Environmental Sciences, the Faculty of Life Sciences, and the Faculty of Environmental Science and Engineering.

The main research interests of the Center for Ecology include global change ecology, vegetation ecology, biodiversity, paleoecology, ecological remote sensing and modeling, ecological stoichiometry, subsurface ecology, landscape ecology and ecological planning, sustainable ecology, animal ecology, plant physiological ecology, and theoretical ecology. As a planning goal in the near future, the Ecological Center will further improve the existing discipline system, set up some new discipline directions, and make up for the shortcomings of the discipline. The center plans to increase the direction of microbial ecology and restoration ecology to cultivate emerging interdisciplinary forces.

1. Carry out teaching and scientific research in the direction of biodiversity and global change ecology; improve the discipline construction of the Ecological Research Center.
2. Teach 1-2 undergraduate or graduate courses per year.

Qualifications

1. Applicants should have a doctorate degree.
2. Have a broad academic vision, strong scientific research innovation ability, and academic development potential, with achievements of international influence in related fields and high-level articles published. Candidates should have strong academic influence in related fields both domestically and internationally.
3. Ability to independently form and lead a research team.
4. Love teaching and be good at guiding and training graduate students.
5. Law-abiding, dedicated, physically and mentally healthy, and have a teamwork spirit.
