Job Description

1. Introduction to the Department

The School of Psychology and Cognitive Sciences at Peking University (hereinafter referred to as the School of Psychology) is committed to leveraging the comprehensive disciplinary advantages of Peking University to build a world-class psychology department grounded in cutting-edge international research. The basic psychology discipline at Peking University is a key discipline of the Ministry of Education, a characteristic major in Beijing, and a first-level key discipline in Beijing. Since the start of the new century, the discipline has been approved as a national base for basic science research and teaching talents. It is the first psychology discipline in mainland China to enter the top 1% of the ESI world rankings and has consistently been rated as the highest grade in national university discipline evaluations by the Ministry of Education. The department has also been selected for the Ministry of Education's "Double First-Class Disciplines" list and the "Top-notch Student Training Program 2.0 Base" for basic disciplines.

In recent years, the department has gradually formed distinctive directions around international academic development trends and national social development needs. These include cognitive neuroscience (exploring brain mechanisms underlying behavioral and mental processes), organizational and managerial psychology (studying enterprise management and organizational construction), developmental psychology (focused on the growth of infants and adolescents), and clinical psychology (focused on psychological abnormalities and clinical treatment). Peking University provides a world-class research platform for psychological and cognitive science, including high-end scientific instruments like the 3T, 7T, and 9.4T magnetic resonance imagers, magnetometer, high-density electroencephalograph, transcranial magnetic stimulator, and eye tracker. The school also offers a platform for interdisciplinary exchanges, internationally competitive remuneration, start-up funds, and an excellent environment for scientific research collaboration.
