1. Introduction to the Department

The McGovern Institute for Brain Science at Peking University was established with funding from the McGovern Foundation and IDG Capital. The institute conducts interdisciplinary research in the fields of molecular, cellular, circuit, system, cognitive, psychological, computational neuroscience, and neurological and psychiatric diseases. The main focus is on basic brain function, brain cognition, and brain diseases. The institute operates on the principles of "internationalization, socialization, competitiveness, and high efficiency," and collaborates closely with the Joint Center for Life Sciences to introduce top talents. Supported by the School of Psychological and Cognitive Sciences, the School of Life Sciences, the School of Physics, the School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, the School of Future Technology, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Affiliated Hospital, the Institute has built a high-level research team with first-class discipline development and leading scientific achievements. The McGovern Institute has positioned Peking University at the forefront of global brain science research.

Job Responsibilities

• Independent Research Group Leader (PI).
• Focus on research directions such as brain cognition, brain development, and brain diseases.
• Lead national scientific research projects and manage research laboratories independently.
• Teach key professional courses for undergraduate and graduate students.
• Cultivate world-class graduate students.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in related fields.
• Outstanding achievements recognized by domestic or international peers in neurobiology, cognitive psychology, or related fields.
• Landmark research results.
• Must be capable of independently running scientific research laboratories.
