1. Introduction to the Department

The Beijing International Research Center for Natural Gas Hydrates is an independent entity jointly established and owned by the China Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Peking University, with corresponding research units in the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences and Peking University. The Hydrate Center has established a stable cooperative relationship with IFREMER and Istanbul University of Technology in Turkey, conducting research on gas hydrates in the Sea of Marmara and achieving a series of notable results. Serving national energy security and maritime power strategies, the Hydrate Center focuses on innovative research through multidisciplinary integration and interdisciplinary collaboration. The center aims to address fundamental science and engineering challenges in the industrialization of gas hydrate, promote the industrialization process of gas hydrate exploration and exploitation, and become a leading scientific and technological research hub with international influence.

Job Responsibilities

• Engaged in research in the fields of natural gas hydrate physical properties, marine science, marine chemistry and geochemistry, geophysics, natural hydrogen, etc.
• Undertake major national scientific research projects and international cooperation tasks.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a related field.
• Achieved influential academic recognition from peers at home and abroad in hydrate research.
• Strong team spirit and high potential for development.
• Expected to produce research results of international standard and develop into an academic leader in the corresponding research areas.
