Job Description

1. Introduction of the Center

The Research Center for Carbon-based Electronics at Peking University was established in July 2015. In November 2019, it was approved as an entity research institution and is now affiliated with the School of Electronics.

The center aims to actively implement the "Outline of the National Innovation-Driven Development Strategy" and follows the important instructions given by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection at Peking University on May 2, 2018, regarding the work of carbon-based integrated circuits. The center takes full advantage of Peking University's diverse disciplines and talents, focusing on national strategic needs and international academic frontiers. It leads the development of carbon-based electronics as part of the "double first-class" discipline in electronic science and technology. The center also focuses on talent training, team building, and the establishment of key research platforms for carbon-based electronics, aiming to make significant contributions to the international development of carbon-based electronics and accelerate the original innovation and technological advancement of carbon-based integrated circuits. Its goal is to produce major, landmark achievements with international influence.

Currently, the center is forming a high-end research team focused on carbon-based electronics, particularly in areas like ultra-low-power carbon nanotube transistors, carbon-based three-dimensional heterogeneous integrated circuit technology, and large-scale carbon-based integrated circuit technology. This team aims to establish a globally influential research base for carbon-based chips, driving deep interdisciplinary integration at Peking University and fostering the growth of China's information technology industry.

Peng Lianmao, the director of the center, is a Boya Chair Professor at Peking University, Dean of the School of Electronics, and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
