Nottingham University Business School China, under the leadership of Dr. Jie Yu (Joseph), is seeking an outstanding Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the postdoctoral research station in business administration for the development of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China research agenda.
Your Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities include:
- Formulating and articulating research objectives, alongside developing proposals for both individual and collaborative projects, utilizing established methodologies and techniques to execute research effectively within the specified area.
- Analyzing data meticulously, interpreting findings, evaluating scholarly texts, and contributing innovative insights, while adhering to project deadlines and collaborating seamlessly with team members and partners.
- Writing up research work for publication and/or contributing to the dissemination at national/international conferences, resulting in successful research outputs.
- Identifying opportunities and assisting in writing bids for research grant applications.
- Building relationships with both internal and external contacts to exchange information, form relationships for future collaborations, and identify potential sources of funds and/or opportunities for collaboration.
About You
- The candidate must have obtained a PhD degree within 3 years in the relevant areas being recruited to.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, including the ability to communicate complex information clearly. Proficiency in Chinese is a plus.
- High analytical ability to analyze and interpret data, evaluate and critique texts, and bring new insights.
- Ability to creatively apply relevant research approaches, models, techniques, and methods.
- Ability to assess and organize resource requirements and deploy effectively.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate with others, both internally and externally.
- Practical experience applying the specialist skills and techniques required for the role is desirable.

About the Postdoctoral Research Station in Business Administration

About the Research Team
Dr. Jie Yu (Joseph) is currently an associate professor in Information Systems and the Associate Dean for Global Engagement and Partnerships in the Nottingham University Business School China. His research interests include AI and business analytics, e-commerce, and social media. His works have been published in top international journals such as Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, and Journal of the Associations for Information Systems. About the Project
This research project aims to explore innovative strategies for green supply chain management and carbon footprint optimization in the context of dual carbon goals—carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. By integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into supply chain management, the project will analyze carbon emissions across various stages of the supply chain and propose actionable optimization strategies. This interdisciplinary approach seeks to enhance operational efficiencies, minimize greenhouse gas emissions, and support organizations in transitioning to a low-carbon economy.
Your Remuneration, Benefits, and Support
- You will be offered a fixed-term contract with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China for 2 years, with a probation period of 2 months.
- Annual salary of RMB 267,233 with a competitive benefits package.
- Postdoctoral Research Fellows are also eligible to apply for RMB 50,000 in research funding after starting their research.
