Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Research Fellow in Neuroscience to join the Duke Kunshan University—The First People's Hospital of Kunshan Joint Brain Sciences Laboratory investigating the brain mechanisms underlying memory consolidation in laboratory mice.
Position Overview
We are seeking a full-time Research Fellow in Neuroscience to join the Duke Kunshan University—The First People's Hospital of Kunshan Joint Brain Sciences Laboratory investigating the brain mechanisms underlying memory consolidation in laboratory mice. The successful candidate will design and execute experiments combining behavioral testing, chemogenetics, in vivo electrophysiology, and in vivo optical imaging to examine the role of the hippocampus in memory consolidation under different vigilance states. This research position is ideal for those who want to pursue a Ph.D. in animal neuroscience in the future.

Essential Duties
- Develop and conduct behavioral experiments, stereotaxic surgeries, and in vivo neuronal recording (electrophysiology or optical imaging) in laboratory mice.
- Collect and process brain samples from mice and perform microscopy.
- Analyze and summarize data obtained from experiments using MATLAB, Python, or R.
- Present findings at lab meetings regularly and contribute to manuscript preparation.
- Maintain the condition of the rodent laboratory in compliance with institutional and national guidelines.
- Supervise junior researchers (undergraduate students) working in the rodent laboratory.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- University employees’ job responsibilities will continue to expand in scope and depth as the university grows and complexity in its programs.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or Biology (completed).
- Experience in conducting experiments with laboratory rodents and managing mouse colonies.
- Showing a willingness to acquire new (experimental and data analytical) skills within a short period of time.
Education
Master's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or Biology (completed).
Years of Related Working Experience
At least 1 year of experience working in a rodent laboratory.
