The University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Senior Research Fellow in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (OUTSOURCED) in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Your Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Lead and deliver individual and collaborative research in the area of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and contribute to the direction of research programmes in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
- Be responsible for generating new intellectual understanding/knowledge through the application of research and developing ideas for the application of research outcomes.
- Link research activities to the University’s research platforms, such as the UNNC Sir Peter Mansfield MRI Centre.
- Take the lead on planning, developing, and conducting individual and/or collaborative research objectives, projects, and proposals, either individually or as part of a broader programme.
- Acquire, analyze, interpret, and evaluate research findings/data using appropriate approaches, techniques, models, and methods.
- Establish a national reputation and regularly disseminate research findings through peer-reviewed publications, conferences, and other media.
- Generate income by developing and winning support for innovative research proposals and funding bids.
- Manage the application of a range of methodologies and techniques appropriate to the research.
- Investigate and devise research methods and approaches as needed.
- Communicate complex and conceptual ideas to a wide audience using various media.
- Build relationships and collaborate with internal and external contacts, nationally and internationally, to complete research projects and advance the discipline.
- Manage research assets and budgets, ensuring the effective use of resources.
- Resolve problems to meet research objectives and deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with the University Safety Policy and the safe conduct of work within the research area.
- Participate in training and staff development events, both as a trainer or trainee.
- Maintain appropriate professional development and expertise.
- Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.
About You
- PhD in a relevant subject area.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills in English.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and analytical methods relevant to Magnetic Resonance Imaging and material sciences.
- Extensive research experience within the subject area.
- A consistent track record of published research in the relevant field.
- Extensive experience and demonstrated success in delivering research results.
