Job Description
Introduction to the Department
The Center for Chinese Political Science at Peking University was established on October 20, 2015, as an entity research institute primarily dedicated to basic research in political science. The founding director of the research center is Yu Keping, a chair professor at Peking University.
The center focuses on research related to the basic theories of political science and aims to publish original, high-level research findings while striving to lead domestic political science theory. The center also offers basic political science courses to undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students of the School of Government and contributes to the "Joint Training Program of Politics, Law and Society" under Peking University's comprehensive undergraduate education reform. This initiative helps cultivate doctoral and postdoctoral talents in political science. Furthermore, the center actively promotes domestic and international cooperation to bring China's political science research achievements to a global audience.
Currently, the center's research includes four major fields: Political Philosophy, Comparative Political Systems, History of Chinese Political Thought, and History of Foreign Political Thought. Specific research topics include Political Knowledge, Systems and Habits, Research on the Modernization of National Governance, and National Governance and the Rise of Great Powers. The center also oversees the National Governance Research Collaboration Network and the China Local Government Reform and Innovation Research and Reward Program. Additionally, it publishes the academic journal Political Science Review and co-sponsors the Peking University Political Science Review with the School of Government.

Job Responsibilities:
- Engage in teaching and research on basic theories of political science.
- Scholars specializing in algorithmic politics, religious politics, or Chinese politics are preferred.
Qualifications:
- A doctorate degree in political science or related fields from key universities both in China and internationally.
- Applicants for professor positions should generally be under 50 years old;
- applicants for associate professor positions should generally be under 40 years old;
- applicants for assistant professor positions should generally be under 35 years old.
- Must be competent in teaching related professional courses and have the ability to teach in foreign languages.
- Have published high-level academic papers and monographs, with the potential to become a leader in the field.
- Physically and mentally healthy, with good academic conduct, professional ethics, and teamwork spirit.
