Job Description
Introduction to the Department
Peking University has a long-standing tradition of excellence in education. The roots of its educational history trace back to 1902, when the predecessor of Peking University, Beijing Normal University, established a normal hall to offer education courses. In 1924, the Department of Education was formally founded at Peking University. Following the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949, the department was restructured in line with national plans, and in 1980, the Department of Education was reformed into the Higher Education Research Office. This office evolved in 1984 into the Institute of Higher Education Sciences, and in 2000, it was officially developed into the Faculty of Education.
Today, the Faculty of Education consists of four departments:
- The Department of Education and Human Development
- The Department of Educational Economics and Management
- The Department of Educational Technology
- The Department of Educational Management and Policy
Additionally, the Faculty houses two research institutes, the Institute of Higher Education Science and the Institute of Educational Economics, along with 12 virtual research centers and three laboratories.
The Faculty of Education at Peking University offers doctoral programs in two first-level disciplines: Education and Public Administration. It also offers six master’s degree programs in fields such as Higher Education, Educational Economics and Management, Educational Technology, Principles of Education, and Medical Education, along with five professional master's degree programs in Education. Among its strengths is the national key discipline in Educational Economics and Management. The faculty also operates two postdoctoral mobile stations in Education and Public Administration.
The faculty’s research is focused on critical practical issues and fundamental theoretical challenges in education, with an emphasis on empirical research, research process standardization, and methods. It has established itself in areas like Higher Education, Education Economy and Finance, Education Management and Policy, Educational Technology, and Teacher Education, while also contributing to China's educational reform and development through policy consultation and social services.

- Conduct scientific research projects, both independently and collaboratively.
- Provide professional services to schools and society.
Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree is required.
- Expertise in Higher Education research is essential.
- Experience in teaching and research at colleges and universities, or completion of a doctoral degree (preferred).
- Must have published high-quality academic papers or books.
- Proficiency in English (or other foreign languages) to effectively listen, speak, read, write, and translate.
- Age Limit: Assistant Professors should generally be under 35 years old, and Associate Professors under 40 years old.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach 1-2 professional courses in Educational Technology.
- Lead and participate in scientific research projects.
- Provide professional services to schools and society.
Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree is required.
- Background in Educational Technology, Communication, Computer Science, or related interdisciplinary fields. Must be capable of engaging in theoretical and practical research on teaching and learning in the context of advanced information technology.
- Experience in leading core research projects. For Associate Professor applicants, having led a national project is required.
- Must have published high-quality academic papers or books.
- Proficiency in English (or other foreign languages) to effectively listen, speak, read, write, and translate.
- Age Limit: Assistant Professors should generally be under 35 years old, and Associate Professors under 40 years old.

Primary Responsibilities:
Carry out research on Educational Economics and Management, focusing on both theoretical and practical aspects.
Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree is required.
- Expertise in Educational Economics and Management, with a focus on Educational Economics and Educational Finance.
- Experience in applying for and executing national research projects, and having achieved significant research results.
