SKEMA Business School and the SKEMA research centre for AnaLytics And opeRations (SKALAR) invite applications for a research faculty position, to begin in September 2027. The successful candidate will develop and lead an ambitious research agenda aimed at the field's highest-quality outlets, with a particular emphasis on FT50-listed journals. We place strong value on a demonstrated interest in translating rigorous analytical, optimization, and AI-based methods into impactful applications for business and management.

We seek a candidate working at the frontier of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Business Analytics, including machine and deep learning, large language and foundation models, and their deployment for analytics and decision-making in organizations. This position is open at all ranks (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor); rank and package will be commensurate with the candidate's record. Interest in contributing to SKEMA's activities in China is valued.

The position is permanent, with a full-time contract. Salary and conditions are competitive, in line with international standards. SKEMA Business School offers publication bonuses for peer-reviewed publications. The language of work and teaching is English. Knowledge of French is not required and is not a criterion for selection; SKEMA Business School offers support in learning French.

Qualifications must include :

Hold, or be about to complete, a Ph.D. in applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, machine learning, management science, operations research, industrial engineering or a closely related field.

A strong research orientation and track record, demonstrated by high potential to publish in top-tier journals (e.g. in CABS and FNEGE lists, or FT50-listed journals). For Assistant Professor positions, candidates should have already published in top-tier journals or show clear potential to do so; for more senior ranks, an established record of top publications is expected.

A clear and genuine interest in applications to business and management, and in the impact of methodological research on organizations and decision-makers.

Excellence in analytical and quantitative methods.

Ability to work as part of a team in a collegial environment.

Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

Commitment to service and/or outreach activities.

Expectations :

Produce excellent research targeting publications in top-tier journals.

Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the candidate's field of expertise.

Contribute to student mentorship and to the supervision of PhD students.

Show academic citizenship, commit to the life of the institution, and contribute to projects related to the School's strategy.

The successful candidate will join the SKEMA research centre for AnaLytics And opeRations (SKALAR), directed by Prof. Davide La Torre. SKALAR brings together faculty working at the intersection of optimization and optimal control, game theory, data science, and artificial intelligence, with a shared ambition to advance rigorous methodological research and its application to business, operations, project management and decision-making.
