The Faculty of Medicine (FMD) was established in August 2026 through the expansion and restructuring of the former Faculty of Health Sciences. The Faculty’s educational mission is delivered through five academic departments: the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Department of Clinical Medicine, Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Department of Public Health and Medicinal Administration, and Department of Medicinal Food and Nutrition Sciences. The research direction of the Department of Public Health and Medicinal Administration (PMA) concentrates on mental health, epidemiology and biostatistics, environmental health, chronic and infectious diseases, pharmacoepidemiology, hospital management, health policy, and medicinal administration. Currently, PMA offers a series of postgraduate programmes at master’s and doctoral levels, focusing on public health and medicinal administration.

Qualifications
A doctoral degree in public health, data science, medicine, or a related field. Candidates are expected to have strong expertise in at least one of the following areas: public health, data science, AI in healthcare, hospital management, or health policy.
Candidate for Assistant Professor should demonstrate strong potential in research and teaching, and a minimum of three years of postdoctoral training is preferred. The appointment at the rank of Full Professor and Associate Professor depends on qualification and achievements of the candidate, such as the established international excellence in research and scholarship as a proven record of publications in high calibre international journals.
The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2026/2027.
Remuneration
A taxable annual remuneration starting MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor; MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
