About the Positions

Rennes School of Business (Rennes SB) invites applications for adjunct faculty positions to support its teaching activities in China. As part of the School’s continued international development and the expansion of its academic activities in China, Rennes SB is seeking qualified instructors to prepare and deliver courses at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels in Foshan (Guangdong, China) during the Spring 2027 teaching period.

Courses will be delivered between February and June 2027. Individual teaching assignments will require instructors to be available for an 8-week teaching period, with specific dates and teaching schedules depending on the course assigned.

Fields of Recruitment

We welcome applications from instructors with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Economics – including macroeconomics, microeconomics, digital economy, international economics, and related areas

Finance – including corporate finance, financial markets, investments, financial data and analytics, FinTech, and related areas

Accounting – including financial accounting, managerial accounting, and related areas

Big Data and Data Analytics – including big data, business analytics, data visualization, databases, programming for data analysis, and related areas

Quantitative Methods – including statistics, econometrics, mathematics, and quantitative methods for business

Related fields at the intersection of business, finance, economics, data, and digital technologies

Specific teaching assignments will depend on the candidate’s academic and professional background and the teaching needs of Rennes SB.

The present recruitment aims to strengthen the pool of qualified instructors available to contribute to Rennes SB teaching activities in Foshan (Guangdong, China).

Profile and Qualifications

Candidates should demonstrate the following qualifications:

A PhD in a relevant discipline or closely related field is normally expected

Candidates with a Master’s degree and substantial, directly relevant professional or industry experience may also be considered; a Master’s degree is the minimum academic qualification

Relevant teaching experience at the higher education level

Ability to teach effectively in English, which is the language of instruction

Strong subject-matter expertise in the relevant teaching area

Ability to be present in Foshan, Guangdong Province, China, for the assigned teaching period

Professional or industry experience related to the teaching field is considered an advantage

Experience teaching in an international and/or multicultural environment is considered an advantage

Academic publications are not required but are considered an advantage

Knowledge of Chinese is not required but is considered an advantage

Particular consideration will be given to candidates who can combine strong academic or professional expertise with the ability to connect theoretical concepts to contemporary business practice and real-world applications.

Teaching Commitment and Compensation

Positions are offered on an adjunct/temporary teaching basis at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels.

Teaching assignments include preparation of course content and teaching materials, delivery of classes, and assessment of student learning in accordance with the course objectives and academic requirements of Rennes School of Business.

Candidates should be available to teach in person in Foshan, for an 8-week teaching period between February and June 2027. Exact teaching dates and schedules will be determined according to the courseassignment.

Compensation: Hourly pay at a competitive rate
