The Advanced Materials Thrust at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) invites applications for multiple faculty positions at all ranks (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor) with or without tenure.
About HKUST(GZ)
Formally established in June 2022, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (HKUST(GZ)) is a cooperatively-run higher education institution between the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. HKUST(GZ) has obtained approval from the Ministry of Education (MoE) and has become the first legally-independent educational institution co-established by the Mainland and Hong Kong since the announcement and implementation of the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area” and the “Overall Plan for Deepening Globally Oriented Comprehensive Co-operation amongst Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao in Nansha of Guangzhou”.
HKUST(GZ) is located at No.1 Duxue Road, Qingsheng Hub Cluster, Nansha District, Guangzhou. The campus covers an area of about 1,669 mu (111.3 hectares) and is divided into two construction phases. The first phase covers about 716 mu (47.7 hectares) with a floorage of approximately 636,000 square meters, which has been officially put into use since September 2022.
The intended areas of focus in the GZ Campus are thematic and cross-disciplinary in nature, synergistic with HKUST without overlapping academic degrees or structures. HKUST(GZ) comprises four Hubs: Function Hub, Information Hub, Systems Hub, and Society Hub, and offers 15 postgraduate degrees. At steady state, the number of undergraduate and postgraduate students will reach a total of 10,000.
About the Advanced Materials (AMAT) Thrust
