1. Introduction to the Department

The Department of Philosophy of Peking University has a strong tradition, a complete range of disciplines, and a large number of philosophers, and enjoys an international reputation. The Department of Philosophy at Peking University covers all secondary disciplines, and the first Department of Religious Studies in China was established in 1995. In 2002, four disciplines, including Marxist philosophy, foreign philosophy, Chinese philosophy, and aesthetics, were established as national key secondary disciplines. In the 2007 evaluation, all four disciplines achieved excellent results, and the philosophy discipline of Peking University was also identified as a national key first-level discipline. The Department of Philosophy of Peking University is the first national liberal arts talent training base recognized by the Ministry of Education, and has two key research bases of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education: the Institute of Foreign Philosophy and the Research Center for Aesthetics and Aesthetic Education. In addition, there are more than 10 academic research institutions, such as the Research Center for Marxist Philosophy, the Research Center for Political Philosophy and Ethics, the Institute of Confucianism, and the Center for the Compilation and Research of Confucianism.

In several rounds of discipline evaluation organized by the Ministry of Education, the philosophy discipline of Peking University ranked first in the country. In the World University Rankings of Philosophy released by the International Higher Education Research Institute (QS), Peking University's philosophy discipline has been ranked among the top in the world and the first in Asia for many times.

2. According to the needs of discipline development and the overall work deployment of the Department of Philosophy, complete certain service work for the school department.

Qualifications:

1. Be able to undertake teaching and scientific research in a certain discipline of philosophy (Marxist philosophy, Chinese philosophy, foreign philosophy, logic, ethics, aesthetics, philosophy of science and technology, religion, etc.).
2. Should have a doctorate degree in related majors.
3. Have outstanding teaching and scientific research ability, and have published high-level papers or works.
4. Have a high level of foreign language proficiency.
