About the School of Mathematics and Physics (SMP)

The School of Mathematics and Physics is one of the largest schools at XJTLU, hosting approximately 2,500 students in mathematics-related majors. It offers a PhD program awarding degrees from the University of Liverpool.

The current Dean, Prof. Jintai Ding, is an internationally renowned expert in applied mathematics and cryptography, aiming to establish the school as a world leader in industrial and applied mathematics research.

Essential Qualifications:

• Teaching Fellow:
  • PhD in Mathematics or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of higher education teaching experience in English
• Senior Teaching Fellow:
  • PhD in Mathematics or related field
  • Minimum 6 years of extensive full-time teaching experience in English with high evaluations

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience in curriculum design and program development
• Active engagement with the mathematics academic community

Employment is governed by Chinese Labour Laws and provincial regulations. Candidates over 65 may not be eligible for work visas in China.

Compensation & Benefits

• Contract: 3-year renewable contracts; third contract can be open-ended for long-term stability
• Salary:
  • Teaching Fellow: CNY 380,000 – 490,000 (approx. USD 52,000 - 67,000)
  • Senior Teaching Fellow: CNY 490,000 – 590,000 (approx. USD 67,000 - 81,000)
• Allowances: Housing, travel, children’s education, relocation, and more
• Insurance: International commercial insurance for staff and families
• Tax: Possible tax holidays depending on nationality
• Leave: Statutory holidays (11 days), annual leave (36 days), family and parental leave, sick leave, marriage leave, paternity leave, etc.
