Faculty positions (all ranks) in English Language

Jinan University - University of Birmingham Joint Institute (J-BJI) invites applications for the positions of Lecturer/Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor of English Learning Centre

Responsibilities

• Teaching English for Academic Purposes courses (including IELTS)
• Teaching language-related content courses
• Designing language learning materials (curriculum development)
• Hosting workshops and seminars on specific topics in English
• Reviewing and revising administrative documents and publications
• Tutoring and consultation
• Administrative assignments
• Completing other related work assigned by J-BJI.

Qualifications

• For the Professor and Associate Professor posts, hold a PhD degree in English Language Teaching or Applied Linguistics, with extensive experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in English Language and/or Linguistics and/or Education.
• For the Assistant Professor, hold a PhD degree in English Language Teaching or Applied Linguistics, with some experience at least at undergraduate in English Language and/or Linguistics and/or Education.
• For the Lecturer position, hold a Master degree in a Applied Linguistics or TESOL-related area.
• Have proven record of teaching excellence, and relevant experience in teaching IELTS, EAP, ESP and content-based courses at tertiary level.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
