Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) is a public university in Hong Kong with a liberal arts tradition and a stated focus on whole-person education. It was founded in 1956 as Hong Kong Baptist College, became a public, non-religious college in 1983, and was granted university status in 1994. The institution enrolls approximately 12,000 students and operates across multiple campuses in Kowloon Tong and Shek Mun.
