Research Officer/Assistant Research Officer in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine, and the State Key Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (Ref.:537310)We now invite applications for the captioned post.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead and execute end-to-end research projects in metabolic diseases (e.g. obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, MASH), covering the full pipeline from biomarker discovery and clinical validation to target identification/confirmation and novel therapeutic developmentDesign and implement translational research strategies, utilizing multi-omics approaches (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics) for the identification and prioritization of novel biomarkers and drug targetsDesign and perform biomedical experiments to advance therapeutic discovery, including developing and optimizing cell-based and biochemical assays for target validation; applying molecular biology techniques to characterize therapeutic antibodies and macromolecular drugs; conducting biostatistical analysis to interpret experimental dataUndertake other duties as assigned5.5 workdays per week is requiredRequirementsA Ph. D. degree, preferably with experience in molecular biology, immunology, biotechnology, and other related disciplinesPrior postdoctoral or industry experience in the aforementioned disciplines is highly preferredExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, share knowledge proactively, and deliver high-quality results under pressureThose with less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Research OfficerFor more information about our research directions, please visit our lab website: https://www.sklpb.hku.hkWhat We OfferThe appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis or 2- to 3-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.

The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary for Assistant Research Officer, and 15% for Research Officer.

Housing benefits will also be provided to Research Officer as applicable.
