ABOUT XJTLU
Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) was established in 2006 by the University of Liverpool (UK) and Xi’an Jiaotong University – a top ten university in China. Offering a unique international education experience, XJTLU brings together excellent research practice and expertise from both institutions and provides students with the skills and knowledge they need to secure careers in the global marketplace. XJTLU currenty has over 25,000 enrolled students in both Suzhou (China) and Liverpool (UK), with plans to grow to 28,000 students by 2025. There are currently approximately 2,000 staff, including 1,000 academics, with an almost even split between citizens of the People’s Republic of China and international passport holders. XJTLU offers over 100 programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
XJTLU is entering a new and exciting phase of its development as part of its strategic priorities for the next ten years. Adopting an innovative higher education model based on the concept of Syntegrative Education (SE), XJTLU has recently opened the Entrepreneur College in Taicang. The Taicang site will be a pioneer of, and educational model for, the future campus in addressing challenges arising from the 4th Industrial Revolution. Other initiatives include working partnerships with Xi’an Jiaotong University, the continued development of the four new Academies, and the exploration of potential locations to develop the SE model.
With a focus on innovative learning and teaching, and research, XJTLU draws on the strengths of both its parent universities, and plays a pivotal role in facilitating access to China for the UK and other institutional partners. At the same time, XJTLU is exploring future education by blending the educational theory, best practice and culture from both the East and West.

ABOUT Chinese Cultural Teaching Centre (CCTC)
The Chinese Cultural Teaching Centre (CCTC) was established early in XJTLU’s development and is a teaching and research department responsible for delivering general five systematically modules in compulsory, optional, micro, online and practicing courses. In 2023, we are founded as the School of Marxism and are primarily involved in teaching credit-bearing fundamental modules of Cultural, History, Law, Situation and Policies; Self-Management and Psychology modules for all of Year 1, a cohort of approximately 5,000 students. In addition, we teach non-credit-bearing modules and optional modules which covering science, human and society philosophy, skills and languages study.
CCTC is a growing centre with approximately 50 full-time staff coming from a range of backgrounds and cultures, and staff play an integral role in ensuring that XJTLU’s students are equipped with the fundamental knowledge, self-management skills and academic literacies needed to succeed in their degree programmes. We offer a range of opportunities for professional engagement and career development for faculties and scholars at various stages in their careers.
中国文化教学中心成立于西交利物浦大学建校之初，是学校实施人文教育与通识教育的教学、研究和管理的机构。我中心开展 “必修课”，“选修课”，“微课”，“网络课”，“实践课 ”五大课程系统教学。 2023年，本中心转制为马克思主义学院，开设面向全校大一学生（约五千名）的学分课程，涵盖“文化”、“历史”、“国情”、“法律”和“自我管理”五大教育元素。此外，本中心还面向所有在校学生，开设非学分选修课和特色课程，覆盖科学、人文社科、技能及语言兴趣学习。

JOB DESCRIPTION
Due to our continuing growth, the CCTC has several openings for teaching faculty, you are encouraged to apply for a position according to your education, qualifications, and experience. The workload of faculty in the CCTC is shared between teaching, research, professional engagement, and service. Generally, teaching may be up to 20 hours per week contact time plus additional preparation, marking, etc.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Ph.D degree, majors related to Marxist Theory, such as Marxist Theory, CPC History and Party Building, Sinicization of Marxism, and Basic Principles of Marxism; as well as disciplines including Philosophy, Economics, Ideological and Political Education, and Marxist Studies or relevant majors from School of Marxism
• Full-time teaching experience at a college/university is preferred.
• Fluent standard of written and spoken English
• Professional and collegiate attitude
• Party member of CPC
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience of teaching assessing and/or developing materials
• Teaching qualifications or awards to show excellent teaching skills and professional acknowledges to manage the class
• High ideological and political literacy
• High level of research ability
