About Company

Hainan Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences (BiUH) is an international innovative university with an independent legal personality, established by Hochschule Bielefeld – University of Applied Sciences and Arts from Germany (HBSI) with the approval of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the strong support of Hainan Provincial and Danzhou Municipal Governments and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).

The BiUH is the first university to offer science, engineering, agriculture and medicine disciplines established by an overseas higher education institution in China at the Hainan Free Trade Port. It is also the first higher education institution run by a German public university in China.

The university has introduced the “Work-integrated” University-Industry Collaborative Talent Training Model from HSBI to foster innovative, application-oriented and interdisciplinary talents that meet the needs of economic and social development. The university is a beacon project of the cooperation between China and Germany in high-level applied talents training. As a higher education institution built in priority in Hainan, it has received high attention from the governments of both countries and great support from the Ministry of Education of China and BMBF of Germany. The university’s construction and development has been funded by the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst of Germany, and received full support from the Hainan Provincial and Danzhou Municipal Governments in terms of policies, funds and land use.
