Job Description
The Piatkevich Lab at Westlake University invites candidates for Postdoc Positiosn (Trancriptomics) in the Molecular BioEngineering Group.
Introduction of The Lab / Research Field
The Piatkevich lab (www.piatkevich-lab.com) is a multidisciplinary research group that utilizes diverse bioengineering and biochemical approaches to develop novel molecular techniques to study complex biological systems. Our ultimate goal is to develop novel scalable technologies that will offer a new paradigm for probing both functional and structural properties of biological systems to enable a better understanding of the causal correlations between activity and structure in defined cellular ensembles. We also utilize our tools for the systematic analysis of the physiological processes in vivo.
Multiple positions are available in the Piatkevich lab, including Postdoctoral Researcher.
Job Description
Position: Postdoctoral Researcher (3 openings)
Requirements:
- Age under 35.
- Have obtained or about to obtain a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Neurobiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biomedical Science, Biomedical Engineering, or other related fields.
- Interested in engineering and application of innovative molecular technologies to study complex biological systems. Expertise in electrophysiology, super-resolution microscopy, aging, animal models, neuroscience, DNA/RNA biochemistry, and computational image analysis, or related areas will be the most competitive.
- Experience with grant writing or patent application is a big plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and effectively in a highly collaborative research environment.
- Excellent English-speaking skills and manuscript writing skills.
- Demonstrate passion and commitment towards research in life science field; able to independently conduct research and supervise graduate students.
Compensation and Benefits
The research team offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. Applications for relevant projects and programs will be encouraged and supported.
- Postdocs selected for the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation or Advanced Programs of Zhejiang Province will receive matching funds from the Hangzhou government.
- Postdocs who work full-time in Hangzhou after completing their postdoctoral research will be eligible to apply for an allowance of 400,000 RMB from the Hangzhou government.
