About the Position

The School of Education and English (EDEN) is now seeking an exceptional scholar to join us as an Assistant Professor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Contribute to teaching, curriculum development, and supervision within the MA TESOL programme
• Provide wider supervision for EdD/PhD students
• Lead collaborative research projects
• Conduct original research resulting in high-quality presentations and publications

About You

Candidates must:

• Have a doctoral degree in language education (TESOL) or a closely related field
• Have recent experience teaching across a range of MA TESOL modules
• Have experience successfully supervising Masters and PhD students

Additional desirable qualifications include knowledge in:

• Elementary (K-12) education
• Academic literacy studies
• Teaching Young Learners
• Research methods for TESOL
• ESP/EAP
• Language testing and assessment

The position will be appointed at an appropriate point on the Assistant Professor level salary scale based on experience and academic rank.

Your Remuneration, Benefits and Support

The successful candidate will receive:

• A fixed-term contract for up to 5 years (renewable)
• Annual salary range of RMB 445,732 to RMB 586,945 (based on qualifications and experience)
