Position Overview
Prof. Binbin Li’s “Biodiversity and Sustainability Lab” at Duke Kunshan University is recruiting for one postdoctoral researcher. Prof. Li’s lab at DKU focuses on loss of biodiversity, endangered and endemic species conservation such as giant pandas, priority setting and management of protected areas, and promotion of innovative technology, markets and policies to solve conservation problems and local community development. Essential Duties
- Carry out research using spatial analysis and modeling skills.
- Write research papers.
- Research grants application.
- Collaborate and supervise student researchers in “Biodiversity and Sustainability Lab.”
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- University employees' job responsibilities will continue to expand in scope and depth as the University grows in size and complexity in its programs.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient in using ArcGIS, ENVI, Python, R and other tools, with strong spatial analysis and modeling skills.
- Independent research ability and strong research interest, with rich experience in research project management.
- Have at least one English journal publication, good English writing and conversation skills, easy to communicate with colleagues and work on a daily basis.
- Strong experience in applying for research grants.
Education
PhD, preferably in ecology, conservation biology, zoology, botany, remote sensing or other related majors.
Years of Related Working Experience
Fresh graduates will be considered. More than 6 years working experience including Ph.D. research experience in relevant areas would be preferred.
