The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) is seeking to appoint an outstanding academic to join the School of International Communications.

Your Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead and participate in the planning, development, and execution of research activities, either independently or as part of a larger team.
  • Build a national reputation through consistent dissemination of research outcomes via peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and other relevant platforms.
  • Secure external funding through competitive research grants and, where appropriate, undertake consultancy projects aligned with the University's objectives.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching across a range of modules, demonstrating leadership in curriculum design within your area of expertise.
  • Support and mentor student tutorial groups, contribute to the development of their academic and personal growth, and provide pastoral care as needed.
  • Supervise practical elements of courses including projects, placements, and fieldwork, and offer methodological advice to students.

About You

  • Hold a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Possess a higher education teaching qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to design, advise on, and manage academic teaching and research programmes.
  • Experience in collaborative academic work, both internally and externally.
  • Comfortable working within a multidisciplinary environment.

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Fixed-term contract (renewable by mutual agreement)
  • Annual salary for Teaching Fellow: RMB 350,343 to RMB 477,481
  • Annual salary for Assistant Professor: RMB 445,732 to RMB 586,945
