Position Overview

Job DescriptionFormally established in June 2022, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (HKUST(GZ)) is a cooperatively-run university between the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. In response to the increasingly complex challenges faced by the rapidly changing world, HKUST(GZ) adopts a brand-new and cross-disciplinary academic structure featuring "Hub" and "Thrust" to substitute the conventional one characterized by "school" and "department", facilitating cross-disciplinary integration while vigorously developing emerging and frontier disciplines.

The Data Science and Analytics (DSA) Thrust ( https://dsa.hkust-gz.edu.cn/ ), an academic department under Information Hub, HKUST(GZ), now invites applications for multiple tenure-track and tenured faculty positions at all ranks (Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor).DSA Thrust advances data science and analytics by unifying statistics, machine learning, optimization, computer science, and their related techniques. It also expands the applications of data science and analytics to solve real world problems and to benefit society.

DSA Thrust welcomes applicants with research focus in the following areas, including but not limited to:Data-driven AI & Machine LearningStatistical Learning and ModelingIndustrial and Business AnalyticsSector-Specific Data AnalyticsData Visualization and InfographicsHigh-Performance Systems for Data AnalyticsSecurity and PrivacyAI4ScienceQualification of CandidatesCandidates should hold a Ph.
