ABOUT XJTLU

Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is aunique collaborative institution, a joint-venture university in China that offers UK (University of Liverpool) and Chinese (Ministry ofEducation) accredited undergraduate degrees. ABOUT SCHOOL OFMATHEMATICS AND PHYSICS (SMP)

The School of Mathematics and Physics at XJTLU is one of the major schools in theUniversity where we have about 2500 mathematics related majors. We have a Ph.D., Program where our graduates receive a PHD from theUniversity of Liverpool. 

The current dean of School of Mathematics and Physics, Prof. Jintai Ding, is a world leading expert inthe area of applied mathematics and cryptography. He returned to China after spending more than 30 years in the US. The school is aiming tobecome a world leading institution in industry and applied mathematics research. 

RESPONSIBILITIES ANDQUALIFICATION

 Essential Qualifications/Experience

The School of Mathematics at XJTLUinvites applications for faculty positions at all levels in mathematics.

 Successful applicants to the position of TeachingFellow are expected to have:

• A PhD‚Äôs degree in Math or a related field,
• At least 3 years related teachingexperience in higher education in English.

Successful applicants to the position of Senior Teaching Fellow are expected tohave: 

• A PhD‚Äôs degree in Math or a related field,
• At least 6 years related extensive full time teachingexperience in higher education in English with high evaluation.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience

• Curriculum design and programme development experience,
• Active engagement with Math community.

CITIZENSHIP AND VISA REGULATIONS

Employment at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is regulated by ChineseLabour Laws, and must comply with the regulations of the provincial government. These regulations stipulate who is eligible for legalemployment with regard to obtaining work permits and visas. Please be advised candidates over 65 may be not eligible for a work visa in theP.R. China.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS 

XJTLU offers a3-year renewable contract, where the 3rd contract is open-ended, providing long-term work stability.

Salary: Competitive salary in the global market 

• Base annual salary:

TeachingFellow: CNY 380,000 ‚Äì 490,000 (USD 52,083 - 66,736)

Senior Teaching Fellow: CNY 490,000 – 590,000 (USD 66,736 -80,866)
