Overview:

Duke Kunshan University seeks a proactive Educational Consultant to join the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). This role is dedicated to supporting and enriching teaching excellence and innovation through evidence-based practices in pedagogy, educational technology and scholarship of teaching and learning.

Reports to:Director of Center for Teaching and Learning

Essential Duties:

1. Provide expert consulting on pedagogical practices and instructional technology to help instructors achieve their teaching objectives.

2. Design and execute programs to promote excellence in teaching and curricular innovation.

3. Formulate partnerships with academic units to advance student learning outcomes.

4. Create and guide faculty learning communities, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.

5. Develop initiatives for teaching effectiveness and innovative practices across the university.

6. Work closely with the Office of Assessment to facilitate educational assessment projects, faculty formative class observation and other programs.

7. Translate and apply research findings pragmatically within the academic environment, enriching the campus's Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) through individual research initiatives and collaboration with faculty and students.

8. Collaborate and partner strategically with the Institue of Global Higher Education for educational programs.

9. Perform other duties as assigned or appropriate in support of CTL activities and programs.

10. University employees' job responsibilities will continue to expand in scope and depth as the University grows in size and complexity in its programs.

Required Qualifications:

1. Master’s required, Ph.D. preferred in educational studies, social science research methods, or instructional design.

2. At least two years of experience in higher education, emphasizing curriculum and faculty development.

3. Exceptional communication in English.

4. Deep engagement with SoTL, research techniques, and data analytics.

5. Must be up-to-date with the latest educational trends.

6. Skilled at distilling complex ideas and fostering a collaborative work environment.
