Position Overview

Duke Kunshan University (DKU) is a Sino-US Joint Venture University approved by the Ministry of Education and co-founded by Duke University, Wuhan University and Kunshan City Government. DKU is a non-profit public welfare social organization with independent legal status. The campus is located in Kunshan Yangcheng Lake Science Park, about 30km from Shanghai. DKU offers a series of graduate degree programs and launched its undergraduate degree program in 2018. Our campus provides an innovative, interdisciplinary undergraduate liberal arts experience to a highly selective student body that will number 2000 students and 150+ faculty. Currently, the student body is represented by over 60 countries.

DNAS (Division of Natural and Applied Sciences) is seeking applicants for one intern position to support division activities including, but not limited to, the promotion of divisional events, admin related support and maintenance of website and social media accounts.

Senior Coordinator for the Undergraduate Program Division of Natural and Applied Science

Essential Duties

• Maintain and regularly update the division’s official website and official social media platforms, including editing news articles, processing photos and videos, promoting academic events, updating education opportunity pages, and managing content for the division’s WeChat official account.
• Assist the supervisor in operating the division’s Little Red Book account, updating account content and conducting routine maintenance.
• Provide administrative, logistical, and financial reimbursement support for divisional events, workshops, and academic seminars.
• Assist with supervisor in the organization of high school summer programs, including but not limited to student enrollment, offer processing, registration, program preparation and onsite coordination.
• Provide comprehensive administrative and logistical support for the entire lifecycle of DNAS high school summer programs, in accordance with the supervisor’s guidance and the university’s established standard operating protocols.
• Act as the first point of contact for summer program inquiries, answer phone/email questions from parents and prospective participants and provide accurate and consistent program information (after professional training).
• Assist in drafting, formatting and distributing offer letters, enrollment guides and other informational packages for admitted summer program students.
• Compile weekly recruitment progress reports, including application volume, enrollment status, key updates and pending challenges, and submit to the supervisor.
• Assist in the routine reimbursement process and procurement of supplies for summer program activities, following DKU’s financial and procurement regulations.
• Perform additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned based on organizational and programmatic needs or the intern's individual interests.

Required Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student at any level, available for full-time internship of at least 4-6 months; candidates able to intern for more than 6 months are strongly preferred.
• Proficient in oral and written English, with familiarity in reading and editing English content.
• Preferred experience in content editing and new media operations.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in common office software and tools (Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook). Familiar with Adobe Photoshop or related video editing software/App is preferred.
• Highly self-motivated, with a proactive learning attitude, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
