Introduction to the Department

The China Institute of Educational Finance Research (CIEFR), established in October 2005, is the first academic institution in China dedicated to the study of educational finance. It was jointly established by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, and Peking University. The Institute aims to be the primary think tank and capacity-building base in the field of educational finance in China. Its focus is on serving national policy needs, promoting reforms in education finance and public finance, and supporting the formulation of China's educational financial policies through rigorous empirical research.

The Institute is involved in major projects commissioned by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, and other government departments. It is committed to promoting effective exchanges between researchers, policymakers, and educational stakeholders, thereby advancing the overall research quality in the field of education finance in China.

Post Settings & Available Positions

The China Institute of Educational Finance Research is currently recruiting for the following position:

1. Research Associates/Associates/Researchers (Research Technology Series)

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Engage in academic and policy research in areas such as education finance, science and technology finance, and computational social science.
  2. Conduct high-level academic research and publish papers in top-tier journals and academic books.
  3. Independently undertake policy research tasks issued by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, and other national ministries and commissions. Write high-quality policy research reports.
  4. Assist faculty members in training graduate students.
  5. Undertake relevant public service work as assigned by the Institute.

Qualifications:

  1. Educational Requirements:
  • A doctoral degree from a prestigious university in China or abroad.
  • Preference for candidates with postdoctoral experience or equivalent working experience at first-class universities.
  1. Professional Background:
  • For applicants focused on education finance, a background in educational finance is preferred.
  • For those interested in science and technology finance or computational social science, applicants with social science, science, or engineering backgrounds are encouraged to apply, especially those interested in interdisciplinary research.
  1. Research Abilities:
  • Ability to independently conduct high-level academic research and lead a research team.
  • Experience in applying for research funding and managing research projects.
  • Ability and experience in conducting fieldwork independently.

  • Passion for practical and policy-relevant research issues, with a focus on real-world applications.
