The Data Management Innovation Research Center of Nanjing University plans to recruit Assistant Professor or Associate Professor.

About the School

The Data Management Innovation Research Center of Nanjing University (hereinafter referred to as the "Center") is one of the first new research institutions built by Nanjing University in Suzhou. Guided by the idea of serving the national big data strategy and helping the construction of Digital China, the Center promotes the construction of data management and data science majors based on multidisciplinary cross-disciplinary efforts, and cultivates top-notch innovative talents with high digital literacy, systematic mastery of basic theories of data management, and proficiency in the use of digital intelligence technologies and methods.

The Center and the School of Information Management of Nanjing University are both "Information Resource Management", "Double First-Class" construction disciplines, and "A+" discipline construction units. It has a high-level research team with 5 professors and 3 researchers, including 3 national leading talents. On the basis of inheriting the advantages of traditional information resource management research, the Center will increase cross-integration and form new disciplinary growth points in the fields of data elements and data governance, data intelligence and big data analysis, technological innovation and industrial intelligence.

About the Position

The Data Management Innovation Research Center of Nanjing University plans to recruit Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Recruitment research directions include:

  • Information Resource Management/Information Science
  • Management Science and Engineering
  • Data Science/Data Management
  • Science of Science/Technology Innovation Management

Qualifications

  • Commitment to academic teaching and research, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • High standards of professional conduct, including adherence to teaching and research ethics; no history of criminal convictions or academic misconduct.
  • Strong academic background: Ph.D. in a closely related field. Candidates should have experience studying and working in leading research institutions, with a demonstrated record of academic excellence.
  • For tenure-track Assistant Professor roles, ideally, at least two years of postdoctoral research experience.
  • For tenure-track Associate Professor roles, ideally, at least four years of postdoctoral research experience.
  • Proven teaching ability, including the capacity to deliver core and advanced courses effectively. Candidates should be familiar with modern teaching methodologies and possess strong verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated research excellence and potential for continued academic development: a solid record of innovative research with international visibility and a clear and ambitious research agenda.
