Chinese Speaking Coach Intern

Position Overview

The Language and Culture Center (LCC) is responsible for language teaching at DKU, including Chinese language teaching. The LCC is looking for interns for the Fall 2026 academic year to provide individualized Chinese language coaching sessions for international students taking Chinese courses.

Senior Coordinator, Language and Culture Center

Essential Duties

1. Conduct individual coaching sessions with international undergraduate students taking Chinese courses at DKU, with a focus on helping students build accuracy and fluency in spoken Chinese. These sessions are a required part of DKU Chinese language courses.
2. Assist with developing Chinese language learning materials which will be used in LCC Chinese courses and the Writing and Language Studio.
3. Support LCC activities related to the Chinese language and culture.
4. Other tasks as assigned by the senior director and other supervisors.

Required Qualifications

1. Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student; or already graduated but holding an offer from a graduate program of another university. Preference will be given to students majoring in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, applied linguistics, or teaching of other languages.
2. Strong command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
3. Interest in and experience with language teaching and learning.
4. Able to work on-site full-time during the internship (Monday to Friday).
5. Intern positions for the spring run from early August to mid December, 2026.
