Wenzhou-Kean University
Wenzhou-Kean University is a Sino-American cooperative university in Wenzhou offering American-style undergraduate and graduate programmes with dual degrees from Kean University and Wenzhou University.
Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU) is a Sino-American cooperative university in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, jointly established by Kean University in the United States and Wenzhou University. It delivers degree programmes that blend American and Chinese academic traditions, drawing on more than 160 years of Kean University's higher education heritage. Instruction is conducted within an American-style framework: all professional courses are imported from Kean University and taught using 100% American and international original textbooks.
The university is organised into five colleges - Business and Public Management, Architecture and Design, Liberal Arts, Science, Mathematics and Technology, and Education - offering 18 undergraduate programmes across economics, science, engineering, literature, management and arts. Undergraduates graduate with two bachelor's degrees, one from Wenzhou-Kean University and one from Kean University. Master's and doctoral programmes are also offered, with graduate students receiving Kean University degrees recognised by the Chinese Ministry of Education.
Faculty are recruited globally and hold doctoral degrees and international teaching backgrounds, with staff drawn from 43 countries and regions. Research activity is supported by dedicated research centres and an emphasis on international exchange, cross-cultural dialogue and global engagement, including China-US youth exchange initiatives. WKU is a member of the Sino-Foreign Cooperative University Alliance.
The campus in Wenzhou is designed along ecological, intelligent and open principles and includes residential facilities and health and wellness services. Its geographic presence spans Wenzhou and the United States through its partnership with Kean University.
