Roles & Responsibilities:

Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the School Intelligent Manufacturing Ecosystem (IME) and the Industrial Intelligence Agent Research Center (IIARC) Technical Manager and the Dean of Schools, the position holder will provide specialized technical support in the areas of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, HVAC & refrigeration systems, and chemical process engineering for:
multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teaching and research activities; research-led and practice-driven teaching across the school; domestic and international collaboration research projects.
The role is based in XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) and requires close collaboration with academic staff, the Health and Safety Office, the Management Information Technology and System Office, the Campus Management Office, and industry partners.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1.Laboratory Equipment Management and Technical Support
oResponsible for installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment related to fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermal systems, and chemical processes.
oOperate equipment including but not limited to:
• enthalpy difference laboratories, wind tunnels, airflow/wind-speed test systems
• heat exchanger test rigs, evaporator/condenser performance test setups
• basic chemical process units (distillation, absorption, reactors, etc.)
oAssist in future laboratory development, including equipment selection, specification evaluation, and procurement recommendations.
2.Laboratory Safety and Compliance
oCollaborate with the Health and Safety Office and Campus Management Office to ensure safety compliance for experiments involving pressure systems, thermal sources, chemicals, and fluid loops.
oConduct risk identification, hazard assessment, emergency plan development, and safety supervision during experiments.
3.Consumables Management and Laboratory Environment Maintenance
oManage procurement, storage, and usage of laboratory consumables, refrigerants, and chemicals.
oMaintain a clean, organized, and sustainable laboratory environment.
4.Data Acquisition and Record Management
oManage measurement systems and DAQ platforms; assess the correctness, logical consistency, and stability of temperature, pressure, flow, airflow, and wind-speed data.
oMaintain detailed records of equipment usage, calibration, and maintenance schedules.
5.Training for Students and Research Staff
oProvide training for undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and researchers on equipment operation and measurement systems.
oSupervise experimental operations and ensure safety compliance.
6.Other Duties
oPerform other work-related tasks assigned by supervisors and school leadership.

Qualifications:

1.Bachelor degree or above in Thermal Engineering, HVAC Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Chemical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Energy & Power Engineering, or a related field.
2.Minimum 3 years of experience in HVAC, refrigeration testing, thermal/fluid experiments, chemical process operation or similar engineering roles.
3.Solid understanding of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, chemical process principles, and ability to independently prepare and execute experiments.    Knowledge of measurement techniques for temperature, pressure, flow rate, wind speed, wind volume, and thermal performance.
4.Familiarity with equipment such as:
•enthalpy difference labs
•heat exchanger test rigs
•pumps, compressors, blowers
•chemical process equipment 
5.Ability to evaluate the logic, correctness, and stability of collected data.
6.Industrial experience in HVAC/air-conditioning companies, chemical process industries, or fluid machinery enterprises. Experience in troubleshooting of thermal/fluid equipment, sensors, and DAQ systems.
7.Good communication skills in Chinese and English; experience in international or cross-cultural environments is desirable. Strong responsibility, detail orientation, independent working capability, and proactive problem-solving skills.     Experience working in university laboratories or research centers is preferred.
