Position Overview

Duke Kunshan University’s Global Health Research Center is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and collaborative Program Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, and implementation of research and program activities under the supervision of the Co-Director of Global Health.

The Program Coordinator will play a key role in coordinating the day-to-day execution of assigned program activities and research projects, working closely with faculty members, researchers, administrative staff, external partners, and other stakeholders to ensure that the operation of funded activities are delivered effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with project objectives and timelines.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating various activities across research and non-research projects, including project planning, stakeholder communication, events and meetings, budget and administrative coordination, documentation, report writing, and other program-related activities. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, sound judgment, attention to details, and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, international, and collaborative environment.

About the Global Health Research Center

Established in 2013 as a collaboration between Duke Kunshan University and the Duke Global Health Institute, the Global Health Research Center is dedicated to improving health and promoting health equity in China and globally. Through high-quality research, the Center provides policy recommendations, explores innovative solutions to national and global health challenges, and supports national goals such as those outlined in the Healthy China 2030 initiative.

Essential Duties

The responsibilities below include, but are not limited to:

  • Program and Project Coordination: Coordinate the planning and implementation of assigned program activities and research projects, including timelines, deliverables, and follow-up activities. Monitor project progress and proactively address issues to ensure timely and effective execution.
  • Stakeholder and Industry Relations: Develop and maintain positive working relationships with project partners, industry stakeholders, companies, and other external organizations. Coordinate ongoing communication and engagement with relevant partners to support long-term collaboration and project objectives.
  • Event and Meeting Coordination: Plan and execute workshops, conferences, training programs, roundtables, and other project-related activities, including logistics, participant communications, materials, and on-site support.
  • Media and Communications Coordination: Coordinate with media outlets, public relations agencies, and external communications teams on media activities. Support the preparation and dissemination of project news, media reports, press materials, and other communications to enhance program visibility and effectively communicate project outcomes.
  • Budget and Administrative Coordination: Monitor project expenditures and coordinate procurement, reimbursement, contracting, payment, and other administrative processes in accordance with university policies and approved budgets.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and organized project records and support the preparation of project reports, presentations, meeting materials, and other program deliverables. Conduct project-related research and information gathering as needed.
  • Work toward achieving assigned annual objectives and KPIs, demonstrating accountability for performance and results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in public health, biomedical or social sciences, business administration, or a related field. A graduate degree is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in program coordination, project management, research fellow, public health research or program, health industry or research institutions, or a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects involving multiple stakeholders and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a demonstrated willingness to stay current with and proactively adopt AI tools that support innovation, efficiency, and continuous learning.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, international, and multicultural environment.

Education

Bachelor’s or higher degree in public health, biomedical or social sciences, business administration, or a related field. A graduate degree is preferred.

Years of Related Working Experience

At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in program coordination, project management, research fellow, public health research or program, health industry or research institutions, or a related field is preferred.
